Spring 2009 Guise Trend: Classic Henleys | Apr 05, 2009

Spring time is all about making the most of the incredible weather..., but when summer comes around there you are, trying not to sweat your ass off in 90+ degrees. Either way you see it, henleys are a great piece for the occasion. Different than your normal T-Shirt, but just as comfortable, henleys are a great way to look like you tried even though all you have to do is pull a shirt over your head.
At Guise, we have a large selection of henleys by designers such CP Company, Gilded Age, and Yigal Azrouel.

Bring Out Your Inner Lumberjack: Wear Plaid | Nov 20, 2008

This winter makes Paul Bunyan proud. Warm yourself up with plaid. This trend is getting the comeback it deserves as the early 90s grunge look trickles back into fashion. If you're not into the non-showered look, don't worry, a plaid button up looks just as good with a clean shaven face.
Any man can make plaid work. You don't need to chop firewood to justify a plaid shirt. The best way to wear this is to keep it simple. Pair it with jeans, layer it with a cardigan and sneakers for a look that'll make you feel right at home with the Wicker Park hipsters. Or opt for a v-neck cashmere sweater, khakis, and sleek boots to modernize the look for downtown, uptown, and around town. You really cannot go wrong with plaid this season, facial hair or not.

How to wear your Dad’s shorts and look cool | May 06, 2008
Did you ever think you would say that your dad’s clothes are cool? You book reservations at a trendy new restaurant and you have to call your mom to make sure your Dad doesn’t show up looking like he is on a Carnival Cruise Ship. But as they say, fashion always seems to come back around. And after 40 years, your Dad is hip again.
Dress shorts are back, whether they are plaid, striped, seersucker or even red. The louder they are the better. The difference is the cut. The fit is slimmer, just like a slim cut dress pant, but cut off at the knee.
So how do you wear these new trend shorts without looking like your Dad? Easy, throw on a solid t shirt and flip flops or canvas sneakers. Or dress it up with a solid polo shirt or even a solid long sleeved button up. You can add a dressier sandal or even a loafer with no socks.
Don’t be afraid to wear this out at night, even to the new hip lounge. And if the bouncer gives you shit for wearing shorts, tell him to go pump some iron and beat up one of the Wicker Park hipsters in skinny jeans, a hoodie and vans.
